About Fabric Dreams Theatre

Caroline Marchant

Hi there! My name is Caroline and I've been an Actor for over a decade, performing on  both stage and screen. I have a BA Honours degree in Acting, a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health, and a wealth of experience in working with children. I am a freelance performer. Working with children is my favourite thing to do and running drama games and devising theatre are my passions.

Why Fabric Dreams Theatre and Rising Stars Drama Club?

My first show that I wrote, directed and starred in was created when I learnt about the worrying statistics involved with children and young people's mental health, with 1 in six children likely to have a mental health concern. I believe that prevention is better than cure and that early intervention is important to keep children on the right track for a healthy and fulfilling life. Drama can help children to foster a sense of belonging, which directly impacts their self-esteem. It can help children to improve their confidence, build relationships, trust, empathy, respect for themselves and others, and just have fun being creative in a relaxed and nurturing environment. All of this contributes to their overall happiness and mental wellbeing, as well as helping them to build and develop essential life skills such as communication, overcoming challenges and working collaboratively. This is why I am passionate about running drama clubs and workshops for children.

I was thrilled to have been in the running for Best Actress.

I'm pleased to be playing Sally in this play with Wick Theatre. It deals with the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of these much loved comedy stars. As well as the comedy, there’s some gritty reality and drama of the less than glamorous showbiz life.  In the caravan dressing room, Sid lives up to his lecherous screen persona with Kennerth disapproving of his goings on.  But when Sid meets Barabra, the loud-mouthed blonde, he finds someone who gives as good as she gets.

I am delighted to have been cast in Connections for Brighton Little Theatre.  We all strive for connection, for validation, and to be seen. Connecting with each other is vital for everyone. I am delighted to have been cast in Connections for Brighton Little Theatre.  We all strive for connection, for validation, and to be seen. Connecting with each other is vital for everyone. Yet how often do we connect, even when we try our hardest? Connections is A wonderful and inspiring collection of shorts about the things that connect us or disconnect us from each other and ourselves. I will be performing a monologue called White Thing, written by Simon Jenner and directed by Suse Crosby. This is possibly my most challenging role to date.
